My relationship with coffee is a sorted affair. I never used to drink coffee at all. I recall receiving a coffee mug as a gift in my early 20’s thinking, “What am I going to do with this?” Then my little sister bought a coffee shop. An adorable little drive through shop called “A Brewed Awakening.” I loved that place! There my love for coffee was born. The really good stuff with all the extras that also added on the pounds. And now she doesn’t even drink coffee! What?? She and tea have a new thing going. I digress. Eventually I curated a taste for simply the coffee without the extra. Now it is the first thing that crosses my lips in the morning and the last thing before I go to bed. Yes, I am one of those weirdos that can drink caffeine at any hour and still sleep. Apparently I am a little loopy still this morning because here I am typing away about my love for coffee. Exactly my point. I don’t exactly ‘rise and shine.’ I just drink the coffee and do me.
